TFD Responds to Two Sunday Structure Fires

On February 26, the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to two structure fires.
The first structure fire was dispatched at 11:01 a.m. and was located in the 1900 block of Orchard Pond Parkway. TFD arrived on scene and found a single-story structure with heavy smoke showing. TFD personnel made entry into the structure and found fire in a bedroom. TFD crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The home was searched and no occupants were found inside. There were no injuries reported on scene.
TFD was assisted on scene by Talquin Electric Co-Op and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The second fire was dispatched only moments later at around 11:18 a.m. and was located in the 3700 block of Caracus Court. TFD arrived on scene and found fire showing from the front of a residential structure. TFD crews made entry and quickly extinguished the fire. TFD personnel searched the home and found no occupants inside but rescued three dogs and two cats from the structure. The pets were treated on scene. There were no injuries reported on scene.
TFD was assisted on scene by Leon County Animal Control, Leon County EMS and City of Tallahassee Utilities. The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents.
