TPD Hosts "Pack the Patrol Car"
July 22, 2019
The Tallahassee Police Department has teamed up this year with Target, the Tallahassee Fire Department, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Leon County EMS, Tallahassee Kiwanis Club and NOBLE (National Organization for Black Law Enforcement Executives) for its annual "Pack the Patrol Car" event this Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tallahassee Police Department personnel will be placing a marked police car in front of Target located at 2120 Apalachee Parkway. We are asking the community to help us pack the patrol car with school supplies such as backpacks, paper, pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, protractors, and other necessary school supplies. After sorting through the donated school supplies, the backpacks will be filled and provided to students in need. Our goal is to collect enough school supplies to provide at least 200 students with the necessary materials to start the school year.
During this event, NOBLE and Tallahassee Kiwanis Club will be providing Child ID for the kids. Leon County EMS will be teaching kids about bike safety, Florida Highway Patrol will be teaching kids about safe driving. The Tallahassee Fire Department will be providing fire safety education.
If you would like to make a donation and are unable to make it by Target, we will be accepting donations at the Tallahassee Police Department located at 234 East 7th Avenue until August 2, 2019.
Donations will also be accepted at the following locations:
- Cricket Wireless locations, 1660 West Tennessee Street and 2003 North Monroe Street
- Allstate (Bannerman Crossing), 3421 Bannerman Road Suite 203
