TPD Investigates Stabbing Incident at 2526 South Monroe Street

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident which occurred at approximately 4:08 p.m. this afternoon in the parking lot at 2526 South Monroe Street. Responding officers discovered an adult male had been stabbed and immediately provided medical attention.
During the on-scene investigation, officers discovered there was an altercation between two adult males which resulted in the stabbing. The two people involved in the incident are known to each other. One male fled the scene immediately after the incident. The other male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, treated, and released. TPD’s Forensic Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.
Officers located the male who fled the scene and questioned him about the incident. He had minor injuries from the altercation which did not require medical treatment. Officers have interviewed both people involved as well as witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time. The preliminary findings show this incident was mutual in nature and both parties had knives during the incident. This case will remain open and active for further investigation and examination of evidence.
