Pet Adoption Fees Waived at ‘Smooches with Pooches’ on Valentine’s Day

Searching for a love that lasts? Find your valentine at Tallahassee Animal Services’ Smooches with Pooches adoption event on Saturday, Feb. 14. The shelter has plenty of adorable dogs and cats ready to steal your heart!

The Animal Service Center will be open for walk-ins from 12-5 p.m., offering plenty of time to make a meaningful connection. Adoptable pets can also be viewed on the online kennel, which is updated hourly. During the event, all pet adoption fees will be waived. Additionally, when you adopt from the shelter, pets come with a bag of Hill’s Science pet food, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter and medical care record.

Smooches with Pooches will also feature sweet extras, including photo opportunities with adoptable pets and treats available for purchase from The Frother’s Daughter and Girl Scouts. As an added Valentine’s bonus, all eligible pets will receive six months of free heartworm preventative, and adopters will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket filled with goodies for their new companion, generously provided by the Animal Shelter Foundation.

“This event is one of our favorites each year, as it’s always special to see so many deserving shelter pets find loving families,” Assistant Animal Services Manager Grayson Walters said. “We hope the community will join us for a fun day and take the opportunity to explore our recently renovated dog adoption wing, an element of Pupgrades that enhances the quality of life for shelter dogs during their stay.”
