TFD Responds to Structure Fire on Collins Landing Road

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, at approximately 5:20 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Collins Landing Road. Units arrived on scene to find a cargo trailer actively on fire. Fire crews immediately initiated suppression operations to control the blaze. During firefighting operations, crews confirmed one fatality at the scene.

Responding units included Rescue 14, Tanker 14, Engine 4, Truck 4, Battalion 1, FireMed 1, Battalion Chief 1 and Tanker 1.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Lake Talquin Volunteer Fire Department, Leon County EMS and the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by TFD's Fire Prevention Division in coordination with the State Fire Investigator.
