Arrest Made for West Tharpe Street Shooting (Update)

TPD has arrested Twinn Williams in connection with the death investigation on West Tharpe Street. The investigation revealed that Twinn Williams and the deceased were handling a handgun and pointing it at each other. Williams was pointing the handgun at the victim’s face when the handgun discharged. After consultation with the State Attorney’s Office, probable cause was established to charge Williams with Manslaughter. Williams was then transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

Negligent Manslaughter Killing of Human other than by Murder or Homicide Pursuant to Florida Statute 782.07(1)
Original Press Release (5/27/19 3:45 p.m.,) TPD Investigates Shooting Incident Near West Tharpe Street
The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred at 1325 West Tharpe Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. this afternoon. Officers were notified of the shooting incident and responded to the area. Sadly, one person was found deceased.
The case has been assigned to investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit. At this time they are interviewing all known witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to please call them at (850) 891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS.
