"Four Artists, Four Perspectives" at Tallahassee Senior Center
Nov. 7 Event Celebrates Its Accomplished Art Instructors
November 04, 2024
The Tallahassee Senior Center (TSC) is shining the gallery lights on four renowned local artists who are also longtime instructors in its arts program. The public is invited to "Four Artists, Four Perspectives," an artist talk and reception on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5-6:30 p.m., at the senior center, located at 1400 N. Monroe St. Admission is free.
The featured instructors are Eluster Richardson, (watercolor and advanced oil); Wendy Devarieux, (pastels in landscape); Linda Pelc, (experimental watercolors), and Mark Fletcher, (Clay Creations, Sumi-e and Draw, Paint, Create: An Artists' Forum). They will discuss their artistic journeys and creative processes with moderator and fellow artist Amanda Karioth Thompson.
All are award-winning artists who exhibit locally, regionally and nationally. Another thing they have in common is their longevity at the Tallahassee Senior Center as teachers of beginner to advanced-level students. One artist has taught there for 18 years. "We are proud to have instructors of this caliber as a part of the TSC Arts Program," said Senior Services Manager Sheila Salyer, "and we are honored to celebrate them and what they do."
The artists' works will be on display in the Tallahassee Senior Center Auditorium from Nov. 4, 2024 - Jan. 24, 2025.
"Four Artists, Four Perspectives" is presented by the Tallahassee Senior Center & Foundation. Located at 1400 N. Monroe St., the Tallahassee Senior Center is operated and maintained by Tallahassee Senior Services, which is part of the City of Tallahassee's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department.
