Classes and Events
The Walker-Ford Community Center offers diversified programs and activities for the entire neighborhood. Walker-Ford opened on June 13, 1976, and has provided the community with ongoing recreational activities, programs and events for all ages. The Center's programs draw interest from a variety of citizens within Tallahassee and un-incorporated areas of Leon County. The staff is responsible for supervising, planning and conducting classes and activities, along with coordinating the use of the facility for social services and educational programs for the community.
The classes and activities offered to the community include:
- Cultural Classes & Activities: Health & Nutrition, Cooking Class, Aquaponics, Arts and Crafts, Parenting, Music Appreciation, 4-H
- Social Classes & Activities: Teen & pre-teen councils, Mentoring Program, Empowerment group, Inter-generational program

Physical Classes & Activities: Basketball leagues for all ages (male and female), Zumba, football and basketball skills, games & relays, Baseball leagues (boys and girls), Pickle ball, Men and women fitness, Walking Class, Senior Fitness class
- Special Events: Black history / awareness programs, Halloween Carnival/ Haunted House, Miss Walker/Ford Pageant, Elementary Valentine Program, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas program, Splash and Jam, Summer Movie Edition
- Camps: Jesse Correia Spring Break Camp, Winter Break Camp, Fall break camp, Teachers Planning day Camp, Summer Camp
