Jake Gaither Community PASS (Pedestrian and Street Safety)
The purpose of this project is to enhance safety and mobility in the project area, through the construction of sidewalks, roadway widening, signage updates, crosswalk visibility improvements, and roadway curve design improvements. All proposed work for the project will occur in the existing right-of-way (ROW).
The project will implement the Federal Highway Administration’s Proven Safety Countermeasures such as crosswalk visibility enhancements, roadway design improvements at curves, and other roadway safety strategies, such as clear zone mitigation and enhanced pavement markings, prioritizing safety improvements that benefit all roadway users.
To learn more about the project, an open house will be held on October 1, 2026, at the Jake Gaither Community Center (801 Bragg Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32305) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format, and attendees may arrive at any time during the scheduled meeting hours. Project team members will be available to answer questions, discuss the project, and receive comments. Exhibits illustrating the project area and project concepts will be available for review. As a resident or business owner in the area, your feedback will help refine the design concept and plans for this project.
