Progress in Ongoing Effort to Stop the Sale of Illegal Drugs
November 05, 2020
The Tallahassee Police Department has been conducting an ongoing investigation targeting drug dealers in various areas around the city. On Nov. 4, the investigation focused on the Frenchtown and North Monroe Street areas where citizens have repeatedly voiced concerns regarding quality of life issues and the illegal sale of narcotics. Yesterday’s proactive effort led to the arrest of seven people.
To address the community’s concerns, TPD’s General Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Squad and the Violent Crimes Response Team, conducted an operation with the overarching goal of making a significant and positive impact for neighborhood residents. The seven people arrested face charges ranging from the sale of cocaine to outstanding warrants.
The use and sale of illegal drugs impact everyone and are often linked with more violent crimes. TPD is dedicated to addressing drug-related issues that decrease public safety and overall quality of life. If you see this type of activity, report it by calling TPD at 850-891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
